Sullivan and Cogliano Training Centers, Inc. (www.sctrain.edu), located throughout Massachusetts and Florida, is nationally accredited through the Council on Occupational Education (www.council.org). We are a career-ready computer training institution with the core purpose of improving people’s lives by meeting them at life’s crossroads and providing paths to meaningful employment.
In 1993, Sullivan and Cogliano Training Centers was created as a result of Sullivan and Cogliano Staffing Services (www.sullivancogliano.com), a prominent Massachusetts-based staffing solution provider since 1966 envisioning training its then job seeking customers for careers with its staffing clients. Sullivan and Cogliano Training Centers, in fact, was established in response to the staffing service’s recognition of the high demand for trained personnel in the areas of career-ready computer applications and business technology. Sullivan and Cogliano Training Centers continuously updates its curriculum in accordance with the ever-changing demands of the job market and maintains a growing staff membership of over forty professionals.
Since 1993, Sullivan and Cogliano Training Centers has trained over 12,000 career-ready graduates prepared for employment in the areas of medical/healthcare administration, office administration, accounting and finance, management and information technology along with multiple other professions in which computer proficiency is required. The placement rate over this same time period is up to 85%.
In 1995, Sullivan and Cogliano Training Centers responded to the geographical demand for individualized career training by opening additional locations in southeastern Massachusetts. Today, the campus located in Brockton, Massachusetts, serves over 275 students per year and places up to 85% of their graduates back into the Massachusetts job market.
In 1997, recognizing the increasing national need for career-ready training, Sullivan and Cogliano acquired a Miami-based training center and catapulted its student body from 30 to over 500 yearly students within two campuses while achieving the number one status for student placement in all of Miami-Dade County (South Florida Workforce Reconciliation).
Launching its online methodology in 2000, Sullivan and Cogliano Training Centers continues its history of providing market- and individual-demanded training and employment services, resulting in the last three years with 40% minimum year-over-year growth. Today, students choose from either our campus-based or online training in order to maximize their return on their educational investment. The training is delivered through individualized instruction with program designs tailored to meet each student’s learning needs and career goals. This educational methodology was chosen due to its inherent maximum student absorption, specifically as it relates to the adult learner seeking employment.
For students requiring tuition assistance, Sullivan and Cogliano Training Centers is approved for a multitude of federal, state and local funding opportunities, including Title IV Federal Financial Aid, Workforce Development, Veterans Administration, Vocational Rehabilitation, AARP, National Emergency Grants, TRADE, Section 30, Skills Plus, GAP payment plans and more.
In 2009, Sullivan and Cogliano Training Centers was awarded by the prestigious Boston Business Journal as one of the “best places to work.” Reinforcing this announcement is the publishing of our internal staff survey results, representing 95% staff satisfaction in the areas or leadership, learning, job performance and company culture.
Now, knowing how far we can reach out and touch people’s lives, we have the power to enter an even higher level of growth in which over 5,000 students will be accepted into our career training program from 2009-2011, the result of which will increase student graduation exponentially over the next 36 months. By skillfully expanding our geographical presence in both physical campuses and online training, Sullivan and Cogliano Training Centers will achieve minimally 40% growth year over year for the next three years and position ourselves well for further national – and even international – growth.
