Sullivan and Cogliano Training Centers, Inc., admit students of any sex, religion, race, color, nationality and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of sex, religion, race, color, disability, nationality or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies and other school-administered programs.
LICENSING
Sullivan and Cogliano Training Centers, Inc., operate under license from the Commission for Independent Education, Florida Department of Education and the Massachusetts Department of Education. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVE AND PURPOSE
The educational objective of Sullivan and Cogliano Training Centers, Inc., is to prepare students for careers in office and information technology. This includes training for entry-level and advanced positions in any of several areas across various industries. The education is designed to provide students with skills that will enable them to work and steadily advance into more professional and financially rewarding positions.

Sullivan and Cogliano Training Centers, Inc. provide a superior quality of career ready services based upon individualized customer needs resulting in meaningful employment. We furthermore dedicate ourselves to maintain our finger on the pulse of the ever-changing job market to ensure that our students receive up to date training leading to current careers in the areas of medical, office administrative and information technology.
ADMISSIONS PROCEDURES AND CRITERIA
All applicants are required to complete an interview with an admissions consultant in order to mutually determine whether the program meets the needs of the applicant. Sullivan and Cogliano Training Centers, Inc. do not refuse and/or limit students with any special requirements or limitations, such as physical disabilities or criminal record in order to train or assist in their placement for the career or profession for which students are prepared. The Admissions Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Individuals interested in learning more about the school and its training programs should
contact the school to schedule an appointment to meet with an admissions representative.
For admission into all certificate programs except the Microsoft Office Proficient, Microsoft Office Basics and Microsoft Office Options, all candidates with the exception of Ability to Benefit (ATB) candidates must be a high school graduate or equivalent. For all other programs and continuing education courses candidates may utilize their TABE test as their entrance qualification should they not be a high school graduate or possess the equivalent.
ABILITY TO BENEFIT (ATB) STUDENTS
Within all of our campuses we consider for admission non high school graduates who are 17 years of age or older based upon the CPAt entrance exam scores of language usage-42; reading-43; numerical skills-41.
CLASS START DATES
Students are able to begin class on an open-entry basis. There is no specific class start date as students are able to begin class on any day of the week once they have been accepted for admission.
CREDIT FOR PREVIOUS TRAINING AND ADVANCED STANDING
Students are granted transfer hours for approved curriculum from other licensed, registered or degree granting institutions for similar courses. Students awarded transfer hours need to test out at a minimum of 70% using the Sullivan and Cogliano Training Centers, Inc. provided testing. Official transcripts from their prior school indicating a “C” grade or better are required. Students may transfer from one program to another upon approval from the School Director.
ATTENDANCE, TARDINESS, MAKE-UP TIME, AND LEAVES OF ABSENCE
ATTENDANCE STANDARDS
It is difficult to successfully develop marketable skills without regular, consistent attendance. As students are expected to progress and graduate according to their attendance schedule of record, they are encouraged to attend their training sessions as scheduled. Students are charged for all scheduled hours. Continuing Education course students may arrange attendance schedules consisting of at least 2 hours per week.
Attendance of students in Continuing Education courses is evaluated at the end of each month. Any student who is not on an approved Leave Of Absence and shows no attendance in a particular calendar month will be counseled.
Students in training programs who do not maintain 80% attendance will be counseled to improve their attendance.
MAKE-UP SESSIONS
Although students are charged for all scheduled hours they are strongly encouraged to make-up all missed training sessions as soon as possible. Available Make-Up hours are posted within the classroom.
TARDINESS
Sullivan and Cogliano Training Centers, Inc., encourage students to be “on time” for all activities, appointments and sessions. Students who arrive more than 15 minutes late will be counseled on time management skills.
LEAVES OF ABSENCE
Requests for leaves must be submitted to the School Director in writing and must include an effective date, anticipated return date and student signature. Failure to return as scheduled without prior written notification to and approval from the Director will result in immediate dismissal. Students enrolled in any of the training programs may be granted Leave of Absences up to a maximum of 180 days during any twelve (12) months of their enrollment period.
STUDENT CONDUCT REQUIREMENTS
Students are expected to dress and act in a business like manner while attending classes. At the discretion of the school administration, a student may be dismissed from school for serious incident or repeated incident of an intoxicated or drugged state of behavior, possession of drugs or alcohol upon school premises, possession of weapons upon school premises, behavior creating a safety hazard to other persons at school, conduct such as, but not limited to; disobedient or disrespectful behavior to other students, an administrator, or faculty member, failure to conform to building policies or any other stated or
determined infractions of conduct.

ACADEMIC PROGRESS STANDARDS AND GRADING POLICY
MEASUREMENT OF PROGRESS
Academic progress is measured in Credit Hours. A credit hour is equivalent to 10 clock hours and .033 credits is awarded for every hour of training. Additionally, for contact purposes programs are expressed in clock hours. Credit Hours for programs range from 3 to 31 Credit Hours. Students are provided a written evaluation at least once during their training.
GRADING POLICY
Academic performance for students in Continuing Education and Training Programs is measured through the assignment of grades and grade points. The school measures progress using a 4-point scale as follows:
A 90% – 100% 4.0
B 80% – 89% 3.0
C 70% – 79% 2.0
D 60% – 69% 1.0
F 59% & Below 0.0
I *Incomplete 0.0
W Withdrawn 0.0
*A grade of “incomplete” may be granted to the student in the event of a legitimate circumstance at the discretion of the School Director. An “incomplete” will be changed to a different grade from the above scale once the student completes the assignment as long as the assignment is completed within 180 days. Incomplete grades will convert to an “F” if work is not completed and will impact the qualitative GPA, timeframe and incremental completion
rate. A withdrawal or repetition will be counted in the calculation or the timeframe and incremental completion rates.
TERMINATION, APPEAL AND REINSTATEMENT
Should students find it necessary to discontinue their training, they are encouraged to meet with the School Director to discuss their situation and submit written notification of their request.
Standards of Academic Progress
All students’ progress will be monitored at their program midpoint to ensure they are on target for a 1.75 grade point average and 80% attendance. They will receive a written progress review that will remain in their academic file. If a student is not on track for a 1.75 grade point average then they will be put on probation through their second payment period.
Students on probation are evaluated monthly and may achieve 2.0 grade point average and 50% enrolled program credit hours by their scheduled end date and be released from probation. The maximum program completion for all students is 150% of his/her original enrollment period to complete his/her training with a minimum overall GPA of 2.0 in order to graduate.
Whether termination of enrollment is voluntary or involuntary, students should realize that they would remain obligated for the amount of tuition and fees due the school based on the Refund Policy. Students have the right to appeal probation, dismissal or termination decisions made by the school administration by submitting a written request to the School Director describing any mitigating circumstances or conditions warranting special consideration. If the appeal is accepted, the student may be reinstated according to special terms and conditions stipulated by the School Director on a case by case basis. If an appeal is denied or if the student chooses not to appeal the decision, an application for reinstatement may be submitted to the school no earlier than 30 days from the date of termination. Students who are reinstated who did not pursue or win an appeal may be reinstated under special conditions Director on a case by case basis.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
The requirements that must be met by Sullivan and Cogliano Training Centers, Inc., students to be considered for graduation are as follows:
1. For Continuing Education Courses successful completion s of the course with a minimum GPA of 2.0;
2. For certification programs: proficiency with the basic levels of at least two software applications demonstrated by a 2.0 grade point average.
3. Meet all financial obligations to the school.
CERTIFICATES OF COMPLETION
A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to all students who meet the minimum requirements to graduate. Students may also pursue certification exams when enrolled in certification programs.
STUDENT SERVICES
OUR “OPEN DOOR” POLICY
Any member of the faculty and administrative staff is available to a student for private counseling. Sullivan and Cogliano Training Centers, Inc., welcome feedback from students regarding policy, instruction and curriculum. The School Director’s door is always open should a problem arise and we would also like to share your enthusiasm and excitement when you find and/or we place you in employment.
STUDENT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
In the event that students are unable to pay the entire cost of tuition and fees at the time of enrollment, Sullivan and Cogliano Training Centers, Inc., may be able to develop payment plans reasonable for their individual budgets and for a period of less than 12 months. Students should meet with an Admissions Consultant to work out a plan most comfortable for them. Plans consist of both a non-interest bearing (through check or credit card payment plan) and an
interest bearing, deferred tuition option for those who are credit worthy. Both payment plans obligate the student to pay the tuition and fees associated with the payment plan and/or loan and abide by the Refund Policy listed on page
5. Federal Financial Aid is available to those who qualify. A FAFSA( Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form must be completed in order to determine eligibility.
PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE SERVICES
Whether you are a student enrolled in one of our training programs or in one of our shorter, intensive training courses, the big question is always “Can you help me to find a job when I’m finished?” All students are eligible for placement assistance services through one of Sullivan and Cogliano Training Centers, Inc., placement assistance resources. While placement assistance is always available, Sullivan and Cogliano Training Centers, Inc., cannot guarantee employment to any student.
For the Training Programs, student placement services begin upon completion of approximately 3/4 of the hours or courses in the program. Students will receive counseling and assistance in preparing a resume and developing interviewing techniques and other skills that help in securing employment and moving into positions of more responsibility as they move along their career path. Students will preview placement assistance at orientation.
STUDENT RECORDS AND ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPTS
Academic transcripts are prepared at the scheduled completion dates of each evaluation period when grades and academic progress are formally reviewed. In accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, student records at Sullivan and Cogliano Training Centers, Inc. are only open for inspection to students and parents of dependent students to review and challenge any and all parts of said records. This inspection is available by appointment during regular business hours. The administration/registration fee from $25 to $50 depending upon students’ curriculum covers the paperwork
associated with registration and academic record-keeping. Should students desire an official copy of the academic transcript, a written request should be provided to the Student Services Consultant for processing. There is no charge for this service.
STUDENT GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE
Most problems or complaints that students may have with the school or its administration can be resolved through a personal meeting with the school staff. If, however, this action does not bring the situation to a satisfactory close, a student may submit a written complaint to the School Director. The written complaint should contain (1) the nature of the problem(s), (2) date(s) that the problem(s) occurred, (3) name(s) of the individual(s) involved in the
problem(s), (4) copies of information regarding the problem(s), (5) evidence demonstrating the institution’s complaint procedure was followed prior to this point in time, and (6) student signature. The purpose is to provide a prompt and equitable process for resolving student grievances. If the grievance is not resolved, then the Vice President and/or President will review it with all parties concerned. Students may of course, call the School Director to schedule an appointment at any time if they prefer not to follow the written complaint procedure. Students who file a written complaint can expect to receive a written response within 10 business days. Students who feel a grievance is unresolved may refer their grievance to Executive Director, Commission for Independent Education, 325 W.
